Procurement: “FALCONER” 1960s Neo-Fantasy Nude Painting

This is a neo-fantasy work with erotic overtones and an adventure theme.  As an art form, this type of painting has basically faded away due to the rise of “the computer”.  We know this is no master work, but for $160 (bucks) we though it a fun addition to a nude-obsessed collection.  God knows only knows what this flame bag might have cost in DC or, dare we say it, New-York, but let’s just say a hell of a lot more.  We procured this piece at the Midland Arts and Antiques Market in Indianapolis, Indiana (a feature of Old Indy that I covet).  More on Midland Arts and Antiques to come…

The picture is titled “Falconer” (although the emphasis is definitely more no the Falconer’s body than his craft) and was painted by Jos. F. Anselmo on February 11, 1962. And, yes, the picture could probably be dated without such a prominent notation.

Three flames for this little matter of enjoyment!
