While we always hate to see the interior of anything gutted for modern development or something insensitive and/or inferior to the original, this sort of renovation with preservation of the exterior is optimal to a vacant lot. Never has any city suffered more than when parking lots separate and disjoint urban environments. We know this in most urban areas throughout America, but in the French Quarter this is an absolute “No, No!”
