Forgive We Not The Ugly Home Depot Doors Galore!!!
A Quick Rant On Ugly Home Depot Doors Throughout Various East Coast Cities
Baltimore MD – New York City – Philadelphia – Washington DC

This absolutely gorgeous Italianate building has been raped with its convenience store doors. Never was a public building made more elegant by such wretched specimens of material culture in our ever declining physical, built environment. We look to New York to set the tastes. This we declare is a disaster of the worst degree...

Side by side, these modest row house dwellings have been cheapened beyond a necessary and conceivable state. Nasty door to the left and an even worse composure to the right, but what's most unattractive, is that after employing their ugly Home Depot door, they chose to give it a putrid crown in the most horrible way, they are horrible mavens.

This very interesting, yet former armory, finished elaborately in the Romanesque taste, has been given a new treatment during the second half of the 20th century. We understand the need for security, but why not just set the alarm, as these doors no doubt detract greatly from the beauty of the place. Yes, some neighbors in Philadelphia go down, but we argue for taste even in these crime ridden districts. Again, ugly things lead to ugly acts...and making a neighborhood uglier will not help in bettering its overall conditions...it will by definition make it even uglier...

All it takes is some horrible maven to remove an interesting door, a part of the build's history. Some poor place in Baltimore has not only lost its door, its been robbed of its history, and probably its more interest portion. Might we have been consulted. it would have suggested that the new occupant consider the employment of an alternate exterior sign as to preserve the character and history of the place. Last we heard they were no longer painting numbers and letters in Gold Leaf on the edifices of what once was done for every slob in town...

Rather attractively painted and treated otherwise, this Italianate house gone condo is suffering due to its missing exterior door(s) and its horrible HOME DEPOT "Colonial Revival wanna-be" door its the vestibule. The trend to leave vacant the most exterior and primary aperture of a vestibuled house is a mistake practiced widely in our Federal City. And of all the errors one can make this should be among the most obviously grotesque ones, leaving an otherwise elegant or attractive looking house without the final details it deserves. Furthermore, it will not employ the harmony needed to make attractive an attached house.

Rather than double glazed doors, we have HOME DEPOT. Never are we without viewing the mistreatment of a primary aperture on some fashionable or up-and-coming street without taking notice of a misappropriated door. Even when the rents are sky high and the beloved historic feeling of a place at stake, there are these violations. This putrid specimen is 100 percent nasty, as it has been done by the same creature to numerous houses in line owned by a like company.

Your typical Home Depot Door (while not the worst) is quite putrid on this obviously detailed early 20th century apartment house. This is your typical Washington DC bullshit: high rent, poor treatment of the building...

Almost all painted in the most ugly choice of blue are the inappropriate doors of George Washington University in Foggy Bottom. Despite robbing their students of the highest tuitions among American colleges, GW will not take even a moment nor a few dollars to correct their horrible indiscretions that have been rendered upon the old buildings they own in our historic Federal City. Despite being in walking distance from the White House, GW employs nothing but Home Depot Doors GALORE and their practices are upon every possible 19th century aperture they own.
