This post card depicts Chevy Chase Circle when it was brand, spanking new...

One of 33 circles in the District of Columbia, Chevy Chase Circle, unlike other circles in northwest Washington, D.C. was a later development of the Chevy Chase Land Company (Circa 1893), created to amplify the original city plan and add grandeur to the new residential area.  The Chevy Chase Circle is located at the confluence of Western Avenue, Grafton Street, Magnolia Parkway, Chevy Chase Parkway, and Connecticut Avenue, straddling the border of Chevy Chase, Washington, D.C. and Chevy Chase, Maryland.  This 1900 image pre-dates the fountain dedicated to Representative and Senator Francis Griffith Newlands of Nevada, which was added around 1927.
